The Wanda Group received a thank-you letter from the Heilongjiang Provincial Government, expressing their gratitude for Wanda's donation to the flood-affected areas in the province.

Wanda Group donated 10 million yuan ($1.64 million) to the province at the opening ceremony of its Harbin Wanda Plaza on September 13.

Wanda Group has outlined philanthropy as a key component in its development and the group's generous charitable contributions and moral sense of social responsibility have set an example for us, said the letter.

Torrential rains and Typhoon Bolaven resulted in a "flood disaster that only appears once in a 100 years" in the province, according to the provincial government.
